When we are born, our parents count the milestones. Our first word, first steps, and it goes on until one is put in school. And from there, we take over the counting. As children, all we ever wanted to do want was play. I can still remember the excitement and the anticipation that one had when the time came Happy Kittenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14406399936808407736noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26551829532953204.post-27272785833517378342023-09-17T10:50:00.000+03:002023-09-17T10:50:35.296+03:00Letting goMy mind is foggy these days. It takes a long time to recall names of places and people. Maybe I should blame it on Covid or vaccines? There are so many blame games going on these days and it is hard to catch up with it all. And even if you catch up with it, the next one comes up. How is 2020 going to be remembered? It is one year that changed everything, everyone. 2020 changed the world. Let me begin my thoughts by reaffirming that demolishing Babri Masjid was wrong especially in a secular and democratic nation like India. Those who did it ought to be punished so that such acts are not repeated.
Yesterday the Indian supreme court gave the verdict on the centuries old Ayodhya dispute. The timeline for the dispute is as follows:

If there is
heaven on earth they say it is in Kashmir.
Maybe it is because of this that
everyone is fighting for this piece of land. History tells us that Kashmir was
once ruled by a king who sought help from newly independent India in order to avoid being
invaded by Pakistan. While India tried to win the hearts of Kashmir by giving
it a special status and by pouring more money thatHappy Kittenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14406399936808407736noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26551829532953204.post-69013884164346740372019-10-03T11:53:00.002+03:002019-10-03T11:53:30.037+03:00Those beautiful places on earth
A tweet took me back to Peerumade and the one day trip that we made to that place. Just like Munnar and Ooty, even Peerumade and Kuttikanam have changed. Since the tea estates no longer seems to be viable much land has been sold (illegally one presumes) and many cottages and buildings have sprung up. More educational institutions too have been built since the climate is good and it is far away Happy Kittenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14406399936808407736noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26551829532953204.post-54556798489089027412019-10-02T14:51:00.002+03:002019-10-02T14:51:37.582+03:00Marriageable age
This vacation I realized that one can no longer ignore the fact my daughter is of marriageable age. She is now working and people have started to ask us if we are looking out for her. The society has fixed certain age for the same and many fall into it. Daughter says she wants to work and make some money before she gets married while we are not in a hurry too. We are all paradeshikals or wanderers.

For instance, my parents stayed at more than four places before they retired and built their house which they can now call their home for real. It was on January 30th 1948 that Gandhiji was killed by Nathuram Godse. Godse must have killled

Was supposed to finish this narration last week but something literally stopped my breath! What else but demonetisation? The initial reaction was shock and then the feeling that finally something is being done about it. Then came the nagging doubts, knowing well how the Indian administration works. Bombay/Mumbai, for a newcomer is always a horror until you get used to it's liveliness and convenience. Aggressive drivers are more in Bombay than anywhere else in India am sure. The skill of our taxi driver to negotiate the meanest traffic was so fascinating to watch that I kept wondering how people managed their cars out here. Don't they get scratched and dented all the time?

Am back on these pages to reminisce another vacation and a crazy trip that we made. If I put it down here, can always return to savor those days once again.

Another kitten is missing and she was such a cute one.
Like earlier, the mother cat used our flat to give birth and as soon
as they were old enough she took them out with her. One disappeared (killed?)
during our vacation while Fluffy somehow survived and she became very
comfortable around us. This must have been one reason why it was easy to get
