For another 5 years...

This election did in the end turn out to be exciting! At least it beat every analyst’s prediction and the voters have yet again proved that they have a mind of their own. Woo them, bribe them, threaten them and even shame them but in the end they will patiently wait to let the ink be stamped upon their fingers.

I am happy how it turned out in my own state Kerala. The arrogant leaders may now please listen to their CM or else the voters will never ever give you victory. Sure the money is there but without power how sweet can it be?

Yes, the voters have selected the “lesser evil”. This election has yet again proved that Indians have their heart in the right place and that hope is not all lost. I only pray that arrogance will not set in but the Congress will take this as an opportunity to amend their ways. Let this result give MM Singh the confidence to lead the country.

But it is sad to note that Rahul is taking all the credit. He gets to have the cake and eat it too!

    your lines say it all:))

Hope the Congress doesnt turn arrogant as is its habit ..and that Rahul Gandhi is not given some lucrative position just because he is from some supposedly great dynasty!that irritates me like nothing else!

stability and thats the one word thats magical in India right now :)
I am happy that Shashi Tharoor won:D:D

  2. They are all forgetting Manmohan Singh. If that old arrogance returns and Rahul is thrust upon the people before he proves that he has it in him, then it is the Congress that will suffer.

For now, India's voters need to be admired and saluted.

Already it looks like they have forgotten about MM Singh's contribution with everyone gushing about Rahul's tall stature and how he single handedly lead Congress to Victory!

I do hope that they deliver - now that they are not bound by partners like the left.. Lets see how they perform this time round..I am happy that Tharoor won.. lets hope he performs upto expectation too..

  4. I am a rightist. But I am happy with this verdict, For one, the nonsense of a party the Left is thrashed. The people have grouped themselves into two camps and we will from now one forget ever having a third or fourth front. And it gives everyone a clear five years to prove who is the devil and who is the sea !!

  8. Indyeah: Yes, if not anything else let there be stability and the result seems to be already showing off in the stocks!

Vinod: we may not have to wait for long to taste their arrogance!

Smitha: yes .. no more excuses but deliver they should.. and even I am looking forward to see how Tharoor may bring change to TVM.. I still love the city..

Indrani: relief :) hopefully there will be no relapse

KK: so even u being a rightist dont have much hopes in BJP!

Maddy: yes.. no more excuses.. as for the book, I did not find time to change it since I finished reading it a long time back.. I liked it.. if by obtuse you meant "dull" then it is not dull at all.. I got a collection of Paulo's books online and have read most of them.. I somehow like his style of writing

  10. Yes, relief, and a hope that we can look forward to something positive. As to Mr RG, I think the media is more keen than anyone else to fabricate proof of dynastic advantage. The electronic media has stopped looking at issues. Only personalities matter to them for TRP.

  11. Swarna: I do agree with you about the electronic and even some of the print media. As for RG, if not for the dynasty, he would have now been enjoying in Spain or elsewhere and not in India :)

  12. Anish: Yes we were thinking it would teach the arrogant leaders a good lesson.. but "shankaran pinnem thengel thanne".. :)
