Random Thoughts, Ramblings.....
sad - AKA is being attacked just like VKKM was in his time..it is a pity..
AKA was recruited only for is clean image knowing well that he cannot do anything...but shall end up taking the blame
Resign ? or the better way is to stand ground and not yield to the shenanigans. isn't it?
He was given a chance to make a change but failed.. that position needs a shrewd politician and not someone like Anthony, who can only put his hands on is head when faced with a crisis.
Oh , I would not agree with you entirely. You said the need of the hour is a "shrewd politician". The synonym for "shrewd" in our political lexicon is "scoundrel, rascal, thief, and in short felon".AKA , remember is the second person in post independent India to hold the sensitive and lucrative post after VKKM and that to without blemish. The system is so infested with the contagion that it may take a few Antonys to make any impact. What can he really accomplish when he has a boss who is pliable and a super boss who only has an agenda of cementing her husband's and mother in law's legacy?
Anil: Shrewd means knowing your enemies well enough to do your duty.. I maybe out of context but still let me quote a Bible verse..Matthew 10:16I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. And now as feared, he shall take all the blame if TOI is to be taken seriously..http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Tatra-truck-deal-Antony-faces-jail-for-neglect-of-duty/articleshow/12488251.cmsThe belated registration on Friday of a CBI case related to Tatra indicates Antony violated a legal duty when the bribery allegations had first been brought to his notice in writing by his party colleague Ghulam Nabi Azad in 2009 and then verbally by Army chief Gen V K Singh in 2010. His prolonged failure to take action on the issue till it came out in the open flies in the face of the duty cast on "every person" by Section 39 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). But then as mentioned, he has a boss whom he needs to keep happy.. sadly he has become a "yes" man like many others.
The discussion is getting interesting.Your quote from the Bible is wonderful.AKA may be weak kneed or may dither. His honesty is negated by that. I agree. But we do not have a Nehru to be above subterfuge and intrigues.Or welcome scathing adverse criticism as a necessary aspect of democracy.Yes may be you have a point, if Antony cannot clean the stables let him go. But,and then who another dose of honesty or vile?
Maybe things will change for the better.. AKA and the General may be axed for their action or lack of action.. but im my opinion General is being targeted instead of the rest.. AKA recognizes the honest General but was unable to do anything.. he is truly in a dilema.... it was only his honesty that made him admit that General had approached him in 2010 even when there was nothing in writing. As for the leak in such imp documents needs to be treated with more seriousness. By why was it leaked?
here is the real story, take a look. First thing to observe take the mainstream press with not one but many pinches of salt. they pander to their sponsors...
oops forgot the linkhttp://www.rediff.com/news/column/revealed-the-real-story-behind-cbis-tatra-probe/20120404.htm
Maddy: Thank you for the link.. the following para interested me..The defence minister and the chief of the army staff are never going to be mistaken for bosom buddies, but they both have great respect for each other. Each sincerely believes in the other man's integrity, and also that the man across the table wants to do well by India. In other words, the foundation for a healthy professional relationship has always existed -- and continues to exist. The above gives one relief after reading about the so called Army Coup etc...as I said earlier, I hope this shall prove good for the nation.. but CBI should investigate in the proper manner since this NRI or PIO will not be the only culprit.. he should have his cronies in India if this relationship was going on for 20 long years!
