Water Powered Car

At this hour of ever increasing oil price and every major problem of this world blamed on this particular commodity one cannot but watch in wonder, eagerness and even a little misgiving this very important news...

Yes.. it is another Japanese delight. And if they go into mass production as they say, I cannot imagine its implications. Can you?

Water-fuel car unveiled in Japan
(01:21) Reuter Report
Jun. 13 - Japanese company Genepax presents its eco-friendly car that runs on nothing but water.
The car has an energy generator that extracts hydrogen from water that is poured into the car's tank. The generator then releases electrons that produce electric power to run the car. Genepax, the company that invented the technology, aims to collaborate with Japanese manufacturers to mass produce it.

  2. It all depends if countries and corporates lets them..which I doubt..

If not we would have had this one much earlier and our roads would have been clogged with those ugly cars(as many will find them)....

I guess we have to wait and watch...

  6. Well, the car IS UGLY..

Doubt it's got any kick/pick up

I also seriously doubt it's ever going to be commercially successful.

    But hell, that's just me.

Intellectual Kshatriyan - LOL@All we can mass produce is ... babies!!!

  7. With everyone cribbing about shortage of almost everything these days ... there could be an argument soon that SUCH A CAR would further screw up the natural balance and result in even more shortage of water supply.

It's not completely stupid.. given the claims that FOOD SHORTAGE was a result of the BIO FUEL thing.

    (*chuckles)

  8. Raj.. not if we can use sea water too..I guess they have not mentioned distilled water as yet..

but the cost will be high, but if the price of oil continues to rise and if they can mass produce and find customers, then this option will become viable.. so let them control the price if they want to.

And what is the real reason behind this increase in oil prices? obviously not the increase in consumption.. we havent mass produced babies who can drives cars in this short while have we?

  9. In either case, Happy, we wait. (and in my opinion.. we will keep waiting).

The question is not if they CAN mass produce this.

    Of course they CAN.

the more important questions are - is it going to be economically feasible to mass produce this, without stepping on anyone's toes.

I am sure we all know the answer to that.
