Each
scam the Auditor General unearths seems to be bigger than the earlier one, yet
the ruling party is so thick skinned that no action is forthcoming.
Each time
the ordinary citizen hopes that the culprits will be brought to justice but instead
it is the CAG which takes the blame. I think there is only one solution for
this problem. Scrap the CAG so that Indian citizens shall never hear of another
scam. At least let us have some peace of mind.
Earlier
if it was Kapil Sibal, now it is our PM who is discrediting the CAG.
This
brings to my mind the most important question; how do these politicians escape
jail? Raja is already out and we saw how his homecoming was celebrated. He was
received like a hero!
To answer this please watch this video clip
(if you have not watched it already) where everything is explained very well.
Nitin Gupta (Rivaldo) is a stand-up
comedian & is an alumnus of IIT Bombay (Chemical Engg) and founder of
Entertainment Engineers.
Here he is seen performing for the students at the S. P. Jain College and the subject is the CWG, 2G and other scams - the Archimedes Principle and Newton laws are a brilliant take why nobody gets caught in the scams in India

He
talks about Archimedes law of buoyancy.
Any minister fully or partially immersed in corruption is pushed up by a buoyant force equal to the weight of the money he displaces.
In short, he is never caught. Unfortunately this same money is used up yet
again to garner votes from the citizens when election comes around. Everything is hushed up and he emerges
as the only hero capable of governing his constituency.
Today
we read that Sonia Gandhi has found a
place yet again in the Forbes list of most powerful women.
But if you are
wondering if our PM has ever found a place anywhere in the list of the most
powerful men, then he is nowhere in the picture. So the question is how did
this come by? How and why is Sonia the most powerful when she is only the party
president? She even beats Michelle Obama! The following caught my eyes.
The list named women involved in policymaking, entertainment, technology and nonprofit organizations, among other fields. They were ranked according to influence, the amount of money they control or earn, and media presence.
As
for Mrs. Clinton,
Ms Clinton was applauded for her handling of crises such as the release of a trove of diplomatic cables by the anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks.
Can you think of anything that Sonia can be credited for? In
fact has she taken the podium to answer any question from the media or the voters?
She is powerful only because of the money she controls.
She is powerful only because of the money she controls.
You appoint an auditor and after the audit when he opines with proof that the muck stinks, you accuse him of incompetence.
ReplyDeleteImagine if we did not have some of these institutions - the corner stones in any democracy, not bold and independent these Kapil Sibals, Lalloos , Chidambarams, Rajas and the Kalmadis will have ploughed the country along with all of us down under. And Manmohan Singh like the patriarch in Mhabartaha, Bhishmar stay silent and imbecile when Draupadi was disrobed. So much for Mr Singh's integrity and honesty!!!
If he has the slightest decency, iota of integrity which we attribute to him, he must bear responsibility for the utter incompetence
and quit.
Our PM continues to think that he is the most honest and efficient one to govern thid country. Maybe he os not reading the right newspaper or he does not care. I hope he resigns and not hang onto his seat until the prince is ready to occupy the throne. This way the assets continued to be protected. Without power it becomes impossible. Meanwhile those who rally around the family gets a pc of the cake too. Pathetic!
DeleteCAG is an independent body, its pointing out only anomalies happened, lame judiciary is responsible for all corruptions in the country. Only poor employees who take a bribe of Rs.50 are get caught and punished, big sharks never get caught, even if get caught came out of the laws dragon net using efficient advocates and the loopholes of our judiciary system. Judiciary cannot meddle in Administration, unfortunately what we see is Judiciary trying to capture Administration's powers and Administration doesnt do anything.
ReplyDeleteCAG is calculating based on actual coal price, and imagining that if auctions were done this much money would have been gained by Government. But if its auctioned and companies were charged based on actual coal price, the cost will get pass on to the public, thermal power stations, and ultimately people have to pay more for energy than Rs.8 per unit now.
Central govt didn't do auction because of pressure from state governments, and you cannot give mines to somebody who doesnt have technology or experience. Govt wanted to increase coal production for economic reasons and it allotted cola fields to private companies. They have to invest huge for machinery etc there may not be always coal where the block is allotted such risks are there. Of course Reliance etc will make money with inside information and political influence.
Its basically failure of our public sector which lead to such scams. CAGs figures are imaginary, like CAG may dream that a famous heroine if other than acting also indulged in prostitution she might have earned another big sum and because she didnt do it, she has caused much loss !! Such arguments are ridiculous.
A warm welcome to my blog. Do come often.
DeleteYour comment does make sense and i agree that it is only because of a lame ot corrupt? Judiciary that our nation is in such a state. As for CAG, i dont think they were making assumptions, if so raja neednt go to jail and there is no need of a Cbi emquiry. The allocation was not done properly and since the PM was in charge it is only right that he takes responsibility instead of putting the cag down. they are only doing their job. If there is no income coming why is that every politician doubles or triples his assets after coming to power? So let us agree that money needs a source.
I pray our judiciary wakes up in time before this nation goes to the dogs.
